I Asked…I Answered: Week 5

What do you think you’ve improved since you started blogging? What do you think you’ve gotten stuck on? Have you given up on/abandoned anything?

My blending skills have improved, for sure. I still have a ways to go with it, but I am much better at it now than I was a year ago. I’ve also gotten better at shading my crease, which I had an adversion to before. I was too used to seeing people with overly-shaded creases and thought it would make my eyes look like they were bulging out of their sockets, or my lids had sunken into them, so I avoided doing it.

As for things I’ve made less improvement on, I still can’t wing my eyeliner evenly. I’m a bit nervous to try an actual liquid liner (I wetline powders most of the time), but I am still curious to know if the results would be more to my liking.

I can’t think of anything I’ve given up on entirely. Usually it’s more of a case of me being too chicken to even start working on something, rather than getting frustrated with my attempts. Any attempt I make I consider an improvement, because it’s practice. If I had to choose something that I have nearly given up on, it would be lipcolor, because I just don’t like the way it looks on me whenever I’ve tried it. This could be because I usually go bright and/or heavy on my eye makeup when I do it, and I’m sort of an all-or-nothing person when I do my makeup (I’m not going to my lips and not my eyes), but I’m not sold on that idea because I had tried tinted lipglosses as a teenager (before I started doing eye makeup) and I didn’t like the look then, either.
