Review: Mixology Paste-Primer for Eyes

Before Purchase: I actually did not purchase this – I received a free sample of Paste-Primer for Eyes with my order from Mixology. It’s still in development, so samples have been given out for feedback.

Price: This product has not yet been released.

Packaging: As it was a sample, it was in a little baggie. I’m not sure if the future product will be in a jar or a tube with a doe-foot (like lip gloss).

Ingredients: Unknown.

The Product:

Mixology Paste-Primer tester

This primer is like watered-down school glue, which is pretty different from most eye primers on the market right now. I applied it with a Taklon (synthetic) brush and found that it starts to dry very quickly once brushed on; it’s definately not a sloppy wet mess. It does stay damp for a short period of time, if you would like to apply your eyeshadow right away and really make it pop.

On the other hand, you can let the primer dry as well, then apply your eyeshadow, and it will have a much softer look.

It is a white base as you can see, versus tinted, but applying it all the way to my eyebrow, my brow highlight color masked it just fine.

Either way, when I used it, my eyeshadow did not crease at all. I didn’t use any other primers or anything underneath it, and while my eyeshadow faded a little by the end of the day, I thuroughly inspected my lids and couldn’t find any creasing.

Final Thoughts:

  • Was I happy with this primer? Yes.
  • Would I purchase it once it becomes available? Quite likely.
  • Rating? 4.5 out of 5 stars.
