Review: Boscia Oil-free Daily Hydration

Before Purchase: I actually did not purchase this product; I received a free sample (0.075 fl oz) that contained enough for 2+ uses.

Price: Amazon, Sephora, and Boscia’s website all sell the 1.4 fl oz bottle for $36 USD.

Packaging: The 1.4 fl oz size comes in a standard squeeze tube with a cap on the bottom. My sample was just a little foil packet, and I squeezed everything into a spare 5 gram jar to save the product for multiple uses.

Ingredients: Active ingredients: octinoxate 5% (sunscreen), avobenzone 3% (sunscreen).

Inactive ingredients: water, butylene glycol, silica, glycerin, polyglyceryl-10 stearate, pentylene glycol, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) leaf extract, epilobium angustifolium flower/leaf/stem extract, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, algae extract, hydrolyzed yeast extract, arctium lappa root extract, phellodendron amurense bark extract, hydrogenated rapeseed alcohol, hydroxyethylcellulose, sclerotium gum, aluminum hydroxide, potassium phosphate, citrus aurantium amara (bitter orange) flower extract, zinc oxide, titanium dioxide.

The Product: This product is supposed to be for normal to oily skin. Admittedly I have very combination skin (super-oily forehead, super-dry cheeks, normalish everywhere else), but it didn’t seem to work anywhere on my face or neck.

It feels sticky during application. Once it absorbs in, my skin just feels tight and dry everywhere. I used it once following toner, and once in the morning without washing/cleansing my face to try it on my oily skin, and I got the same result both times. Maybe it’s a good thing that it seemed to cut the oiliness, but a moisturizer should not make your skin feel worse after use than it felt before use. I literally have the desire to put regular body lotion on my face after using this stuff.

Final Thoughts:

  • Was I happy with my sample choice? Nope. I should have picked something else.
  • Would I purchase Boscia Oil-free Daily Hydration? No.
  • Rating? 2 out of 5 stars.
